I have never heard of this tribe, so I am deeply thankful for this post. I love to read about tribes, I find each culture fascinating to read about. Their wooden shields truly display a magnificent pattern. Many tribes in the world have been known to be cannibals, or this is how we today classified it. But many tribes have a completely different view of death, and how a body should be treated. Eating the enemy could be seen as consuming the enemy’s strength. This is a great post!
    Sincerely,

Reminds me of the ni-Van in Vanuatu, where I lived for a year. The style of the carvings and the houses. I assume those are boar horns in their noses–pigs and boars are very important in Vanuatu too. Thanks for bringing back those happy memories.
